Antique French Gilt & Cobalt Blue Porcelain Ewer with Gilt Bronze Mounts
Stunning mid-to-late 19th-century French porcelain ewer featuring a deep cobalt blue ground with elaborate raised 24K gold paste decoration and a finely painted central reserve depicting a romantic courting couple in period dress. Richly mounted in gilt bronze (ormolu) with rococo scroll handle, spout and raised on four scrolling feet.
Excellent condition with only minor age-related wear to the gilding.
A luxurious piece of Napoleonic/Third-Empire or Victorian-era decorative art.
