Q & A
Have a question or looking to schedule an appointment?
Hi: Interested in the cabinets and also the microfilm , if available will pick up all at same time 06/03/2026 23:02:36 PM
Hello! We only have the cabinets available at this time; the microfilm has been digitized as needed and disposed of. 06/05/2026 08:41:31 AM
HOw much damage to the inside of the cabinets has the condition created? Thank you. Brian 06/05/2026 07:34:10 AM
Per the department manager where these are housed: Great question — and to my knowledge, the damage of vinegar syndrome is just the temporary smell. Now that the microfilm has been removed, a good airing out and cleaning should remove danger of damage to future items stored in those shelves. That's our guess though, and we can't guarantee future microfilm will be safe. As for the rest of the damage — (4) of the units are fine as is structurally--those are the ones with the protruding metal handle). The other (12?) have had rubber pieces disintegrate into the drawer tracks and therefore making them "stick" when opening and closing. They do still open and close but require a little elbow grease to do so as is. Facilities says that each track (so both sides of each drawer) need a deep clean out to get any debris out of the tracks (potentially requiring taking the tracks apart). We didn't pursue that so I'm not sure how involved it would be. 06/05/2026 11:18:25 AM
