Description:
The City of Mount Vernon is offering this two-story house for relocation only. The property was acquired for a
planned intersection improvement project and the home is now vacant. The structure must be removed by
the purchaser, cannot be occupied or used at its current location, and no mail or deliveries are allowed to this
location.
Purchase Terms:
Buyer is responsible for all costs and risks associated with moving the house, including permits,
transportation, site restoration, and insurance. Typical moving costs: $20,000 - $40,000 (estimate
only).
Structure must be removed within 6 months of closing.
Inspect and research relocation costs before submitting an offer. All sales are final.
If the buyer fails to remove the house within the 6-month period, ownership of the house will revert
to the City and no refunds will be issued.
Occupancy Terms:
Structure may not be occupied or used at its current location at any time after sale.
No tenancy or possession rights are recognized.
The winning bidder may only enter onto the property to inspect the house, prepare the house to be
moved or to move the house.
Legal Protections:
Buyer must indemnify and hold harmless the City of Mount Vernon, Ohio from any claims or damages
related to this transaction.
Mover must carry adequate liability insurance; proof required before removal.

Suppression
The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.

Description Warranty. Seller warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for misdescription must be made prior to removal of the property. If Seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid. The liability of the seller shall not exceed the actual purchase price of the property.
