This machine was used by a high school robotics program and remained in use through the Spring 2026 robotics season. According to the robotics program, the CNC mill is functional. In recent years the machine has been operated with the quill kept approximately 2 cm below its highest position due to a limitation the program could not specifically recall the cause of.
The machine was retired primarily because its original control software runs on Windows 98 and there is no commercially available controller upgrade known to the program. The school also wanted students to gain experience with newer enclosed CNC equipment more representative of equipment currently used in industry.
The controller was upgraded in 2017 by a robotics mentor/software systems professional to accept G-code via USB thumb drive rather than floppy disk. Because of the age of the control software, compatibility with modern CAM-generated G-code is not guaranteed.
Known service/repair history includes:

There is a missing bolt on the head. According to the robotics program, the head can still be trammed, although the procedure is somewhat non-standard.
Included with the machine are its CNC controller/control console, associated control components and cables, keyboard, fabricated operator/workstation structure, and additional components/accessories shown in the photographs. Buyers should review all photographs to determine the exact items included in the sale.
The machine was professionally disconnected and relocated from its former classroom location to its current pickup location.
LOADING / PICKUP: Buyer is responsible for providing appropriate transportation, rigging, tie-downs, and any specialized equipment or personnel required for removal. Seller may be able to provide limited assistance with loading using on-site equipment, subject to availability, equipment capacity, site conditions, and seller approval at the time of pickup. Any assistance provided is at the seller’s discretion and does not relieve the buyer of responsibility for safely securing and transporting the machine.
Due to the size and weight of this equipment, the successful bidder should arrive with appropriately rated equipment and qualified personnel necessary to safely load and transport the machine. Buyers are strongly encouraged to inspect the machine and pickup location prior to bidding and plan accordingly.
The machine has not been operated or independently tested by the seller following professional disconnection and relocation.
Due to the age of the machine and control system, no guarantee is made regarding compatibility with current software, computers, CAM systems, or G-code. Prospective buyers are encouraged to inspect the machine and included components prior to bidding.

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Pickup times for this sale are during warehouse hours, M-F 7:00-2:00, by appointment. We Do Not Ship. All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer's Certificate.
The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.
