MTA NYC Transit is offering for auction a 2014 Ford Escape (M1022) 4WD, 1.6L Gas Engine Regular inspections and maintenance were performed prior to removal from service. This vehicle Starts, Runs and Drives. This means that at receipt, the vehicle: 1) Started on its own or with the use of external jump box, 2) Was put into gear, and 3) Moved forward/back and maneuvered throughout the yard under its own power. This designation is no guarantee, representation, or warranty that the vehicle is roadworthy and will start at pick-up. This vehicle has not been inspected by a certified mechanic or road tested, so the overall running condition cannot be verified. INSPECTIONS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Vehicle may have missing parts, dents, scratches, dings as well as other cosmetic or mechanical problems. May require a jump or replacement battery. Please review attached photos and video of the motor running for additional information on condition. To request an inspection appointment, you must send an email to Asset.Recovery@nyct.com indicating your name, date and time you wish to attend (Tuesdays 9am-3pm and Thursdays 9am - 3pm only). Appointment is REQUIRED or access will be DENIED! Valid US Government issued identification must be presented to gain entry onto Property. BID AT YOUR OWN RISK! No work can be done on the car in the lot - other than filling a flat tire, jump-starting or replacing the battery. No assistance will be provided by NYCT. Pick up and Inspections are in South Brooklyn, NY. IMPORTANT PICK-UP DETAILS: Vehicles can be picked up on Tuesdays and Thursdays BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Tuesday hours are 9am - 4pm. Thursday hours are 9am - 4pm. No alternate pick-up dates or times will be provided. All pick-up arrangements, including any necessary transportation are the buyer's responsibility. Please ensure all logistics are in place prior to bidding, as failure to pick up within 2 weeks will result in storage fees, cancellation of the transaction and account suspension. Requests for an extension must be submitted via email to Asset.Recovery@nyct.com in a timely manner and are at NYCT's sole discretion. The buyer must have valid US Government issued identification at time of pickup. The vehicle will not be released without proper ID. Pick-up by a designee or third party is permitted with prior notification VIA EMAIL by the buyer. The designee must have valid ID that matches the information provided by the buyer. The buyer’s name (as recorded on the Bill of Sale) will be entered on the back of the title prior to vehicle removal. DO NOT ASK for the TITLE to be left blank. Towing of this vehicle is recommended as its road worthiness has not been tested, if you choose to drive it out- it is at your own risk. SALES TAX
When applicable, sales tax is calculated based upon the auction’s advertised location.If you are seeking sales tax exemption, you must complete Liquidity Services’ tax exemption form(s). We recommend doing this prior to the auction’s closure or before making payment. To do so, please visit Liquidity Services' Tax Exemption Submission Tool.
Retirada
Purchased material will be released only upon receipt of payment. Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of the close of the auction, unless a prior arrangement has been made.
A daily storage fee of $25.00 per day may be charged for any item not removed within the ten (10) business days allowed or within the period to which such time may have been extended by the Seller. Bidders’ accounts may also be locked due to failure to follow payment terms or remove the property as specified above.
The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No assistance from the Seller will be provided.
The Buyer must pick up their items within ten (10) business days. If no action is taken by the deadline, the account will be defaulted and all proceeds will be forfeited without exception.

Guaranty Waiver. All property is offered for sale 'AS IS, WHERE IS.' New York City Transit, NY makes no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. Please note that upon removal of the property, all sales are final.
Description Warranty. Seller warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for misdescription must be made prior to removal of the property. If Seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid. The liability of the seller shall not exceed the actual purchase price of the property.
Sales to Employees. No employee or immediate family of employee, regardless of position within the Metropolitan Transit Authority shall participate in the purchase of Surplus Sales materials and/or equipment.
