According to Coin News the US Mint didn't produce any pennies at the Philly site in July and produced very little in June. Furthermore, it now looks like the US Mint didn't produce any pennies at all in August also and this is according to the US Mint website. If the US Mint is indeed done producing the pennies then it is just a matter of time before the remaining inventory makes it way into circulation and the supply disappears which will likely mean much higher prices.
How high will prices go when the news breaks that the us mint just produced the last penny? These prices could easily turn out to be a bargain when the news does hit. I can see this news being all over abc world news at night, nbc, CBS evening news, CNN, fox, local news stations, coin world, local newspapers, etc
