Working Order: Functional
The component DISCONNECT PRIMARY GE SWITCHGEAR 3 FOR GE SWITCHGEAR is an identical functional part to the previously mentioned Disconnect Primary GE Switchgear 1 and 2. It is a stationary, insulated contact assembly located inside the switchgear cubicle, serving as the interface for the high-voltage primary circuit. Its essential role is twofold: it provides a robust, low-resistance connection for the current path when the removable circuit breaker (like the Magne-Blast AM-2) is racked into the CONNECTED position, and, more importantly, it provides a safe, visible, and guaranteed air gap for electrical isolation when the breaker is racked out for maintenance. Because the breaker is a three-pole device (handling Phase A, Phase B, and Phase C), the most probable interpretation of the sequence "1," "2," and "3" is that these components are the individual, insulated Primary Disconnect assemblies corresponding to the three phases of the electrical system within the breaker's cubicle.
