Q & A

  • Any info on its weight and how it is assembled? Guessing steel panels, but how do those panels connect, how much do those panels weigh and what are their dimensions? Sorry, can't find any detailed information for that particular model anywhere. What is the size of the elevator? I just know things change quickly at universities and suddenly things can't go back down the way they came up. :) Last question, must the buyer take everything? 04/20/2026 16:08:22 PM

Yes, the successful buyer must take everything. I would recommend contacting our Project Manager, Nev Mosley regarding the details of this project! His contact information is as follows: Nev Mosley, Project Manager ODU Facilities Management Phone:757-683-7034 Cell:757-749-8340 Email: nmosley@odu.edu I believe this could be disassembled in panels. the adjacent freight elevator should accommodate all removal requirements. Thanks again!! 04/20/2026 16:24:12 PM

  • Could you please confirm the details with Nev and update the listing? I’m not trying to be difficult, but key information like weight, dimensions, and the distance to the elevator and nearest loading dock should be included as standard for all bidders and clearly posted. This is especially important when specs aren’t readily available online and the buyer is responsible for any damage during removal. I understand inspections are allowed, but I am guessing there aren’t many potential buyers within 50 miles of Norfolk for controlled environment chambers. :) 04/21/2026 07:20:12 AM

Thank you for your interest regarding this auction. Unfortunately, I do not believe we will have any information with regards to the weight of the Chamber but we are researching. Nev will be obtaining some interior / exterior dimensions of the chambers and we will modify the auction with these measurements. In addition, we will take some additional pictures of the hallway, the freight elevator, and the loading dock, all within a reasonable distance of the Chamber location. The distance to the freight elevator is down a 6’-0 wide hall approximately 30’ away. The freight elevator opens directly to the loading dock where the equipment can be easily loaded into the buyer’s vehicle. The University’s answers to your questions serve as an addendum for all bidders to publicly view. In addition, it is highly encouraged to schedule a site visit to further view the conditions in which you are bidding. 04/21/2026 10:03:18 AM
