Stones,” formerly located at Gazebo Park in Stuart, Florida and owned by the Martin County
Board of County Commissioners.
This installation consists of three (3) large sculptural stone forms mounted on wooden dowelstyle supports, designed to resemble traditional Yap stone currency. The artwork has been
displayed outdoors in a public park setting and is being removed from the County’s Art in Public
Places inventory following official decommissioning.

Physical Description
The installation consists of:
• Three (3) sculptural stone forms
• Three (3) wooden dowel-style support rods
• Approximate weight: ~300 pounds per stone
• Fiberglass Reinforced Cement
The stones are mounted to structural supports as part of the artwork design.
Important:
The mounting base and park infrastructure are NOT included in this sale.
The base is part of the permanent park installation and will remain County property.

• Used public art installation
• Currently displayed outdoors in a public park environment
• Weathering consistent with long-term exterior exposure
• May exhibit surface wear, discoloration, and environmental aging

No repairs, restoration, or modifications will be performed by Martin County prior to sale.

Removal Requirements (VERY IMPORTANT)
The buyer is solely responsible for all removal activities, including but not limited to:
• Rigging
• Disassembly (if required)
• Lifting
• Loading
• Transportation
Additional requirements include:
• Buyer must coordinate removal with Martin County / Office of Community Development
• Buyer must schedule a pickup appointment in advance
• Heavy equipment and professional handling will likely be required
• No assistance from Martin County staff will be provided for dismantling, lifting, or
loading
• The park is publicly accessible and street parking is available
• Buyer must provide their own equipment and personnel necessary to safely remove the
artwork
• Buyer assumes all responsibility for site protection and safe removal practices
Inspection
The artwork is located in a publicly accessible park and may be viewed during normal park hours.
No appointment is required to inspect the items prior to bidding. Bidders are encouraged to visit the
site to evaluate the condition, size, and removal requirements before placing a bid.
Special Notes / Disclaimers
• This is decommissioned public artwork being sold as surplus property
• Sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranties expressed or implied
• Originally acquired as part of a five-piece public art installation
• The artist is not requested the return of the artwork
• There are no copyright, reproduction, or attribution restrictions associated with the
sale
• There are no donor, grant, or Art in Public Places restrictions associated with disposal
• Plaques interpretive signage, landscaping, and surrounding park fixtures are NOT
included
• The mounting base will remain part of Gazebo Park
• The County will not provide installation guidance, engineering documentation, or future
maintenance support
• The City of Stuart has been notified of the artwork removal
