The successful bidder will be responsible for the following:
· Obtain Fire permit and on-site inspection approval of all work required to remove the two (2) above-ground storage tanks by the Town of Hammonton Construction Office. All coordination with the Construction Office, cost to prepare and submit the permit application form(s), and permit fee(s) shall be the responsibility of the successful bidder.
· Flush or pump any existing fuel out of each existing fuel tank to prevent the spill of any residual fuel when disconnecting the tanks from the underground piping.
· Flush or pump any existing fuel out of the existing piping to prevent the spill of any residual fuel.
· Disconnect both tanks from the underground piping.
· Properly disconnect and terminate electric to (2) fuel pumps. Remove and properly dispose of (2) fuel pumps, canopy, concrete, and all other components associated with fuel tanks.
· Cap below grade the ends of the existing piping and the piping connection point of each fuel tank to provide an airtight seal. Potential recommended methods to seal the piping include crimping the ends of the piping or via the installation of cement, grout, or expansive foam to plug the end of each pipe.
· Remove each tank from the concrete pad and haul away.
· Remove and properly dispose of all concrete, fencing, bollards, and all other components associated with fuel tanks.
· Ensure the entire site is left in a condition equal to or better than the condition prior to the start of any work to remove the tanks.
· If any damage is done to the site, including but not limited to the spill of residual fuel, the site shall be restored to a condition equal to or better than the condition prior to the start of any work to remove the tanks and at no additional cost to the District. The cost to remediate any fuel spill resulting from this work shall be borne by the successful bidder and will NOT be the responsibility of the District.
