Description

The Hammonton School District proposes the sale of two (2) 7,200-gallon (approximate) off-line, above-ground, cylindrical shaped fuel storage tanks. The tanks are locate on School District property at 601C N. 4th Street, Hammonton, New Jersey 08037 and are easily accessible off the access road (i.e. Road to Excellence). Both tanks are installed on a concrete pad enclosed with chain link fencing and are connected to a fuel dispenser via underground piping. The disconnect and removal of the two (2) tanks will require issuance of a Fire permit and on-site inspection by the Town of Hammonton Construction office.


The successful bidder will be responsible for the following:

· Obtain Fire permit and on-site inspection approval of all work required to remove the two (2) above-ground storage tanks by the Town of Hammonton Construction Office. All coordination with the Construction Office, cost to prepare and submit the permit application form(s), and permit fee(s) shall be the responsibility of the successful bidder.

· Flush or pump any existing fuel out of each existing fuel tank to prevent the spill of any residual fuel when disconnecting the tanks from the underground piping.

· Flush or pump any existing fuel out of the existing piping to prevent the spill of any residual fuel.

· Disconnect both tanks from the underground piping.

· Properly disconnect and terminate electric to (2) fuel pumps. Remove and properly dispose of (2) fuel pumps, canopy, concrete, and all other components associated with fuel tanks.

· Cap below grade the ends of the existing piping and the piping connection point of each fuel tank to provide an airtight seal. Potential recommended methods to seal the piping include crimping the ends of the piping or via the installation of cement, grout, or expansive foam to plug the end of each pipe.

· Remove each tank from the concrete pad and haul away.

· Remove and properly dispose of all concrete, fencing, bollards, and all other components associated with fuel tanks.

· Ensure the entire site is left in a condition equal to or better than the condition prior to the start of any work to remove the tanks.

· If any damage is done to the site, including but not limited to the spill of residual fuel, the site shall be restored to a condition equal to or better than the condition prior to the start of any work to remove the tanks and at no additional cost to the District. The cost to remediate any fuel spill resulting from this work shall be borne by the successful bidder and will NOT be the responsibility of the District.

Removal

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of the close of the auction.

The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. Bidders will be locked unless a prior arrangement has been made for any item not removed within the ten (10) business days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.

Guaranty Waiver. All property is offered for sale 'AS IS, WHERE IS.' Hammonton Public Schools, NJ makes no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. Please note that upon removal of the property, all sales are final.

Description Warranty. Seller warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for misdescription must be made prior to removal of the property. If Seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid. The liability of the seller shall not exceed the actual purchase price of the property.
