This vehicle was used as a patrol vehicle in our police fleet. It was removed from service due to mechanical issues. During acceleration there is a "growling rattle type noise." We took it to a mechanic for inspection and the diagnosis was a failed PTU. The estimate for this repair was $2,827. During the PTU repair, we received a phone call notifying us that our mechanic also believed the transmission needs replaced due to finding lots of metal in the fluids. Due to this additional information and the high cost to repair, we decided not to proceed with either repair. So essentially, this vehicle needs a new PTU and transmission per our mechanic. The mechanic did take a part some of the vehicle to begin the PTU repair and it was not put back together. The parts are in the rear of the vehicle. It is also not drivable due to this, so vehicle will need to be towed. The vehicle is currently parked in a secure parking garage so a smaller truck for towing would be preferred to have access inside the garage.

The police equipment was also removed from the vehicle so there is also no back seat in the vehicle due to cage removal.
