Dual Beam Electron Microscope - The JEOL JIB-4501 is a dual-beam (MultiBeam) scanning electron microscope and focused ion beam (SEM-FIB) system designed by JEOL Ltd.. It integrates a high-resolution imaging thermionic SEM column with a high-performance gallium (Ga+) liquid metal ion source column for fine material processing, site-specific cross-section milling, and sample preparation.
The unique layout of the JIB-4501 makes it highly suitable for structural and chemical analysis at the nanoscale:
TEM Thin-Film Sample Preparation: Allows users to isolate, micro-mill, and extract ultra-thin lamellae for Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
Section Milling & 3D Analysis: Enables localized milling of a precise region followed immediately by elemental or surface observation of internal layers.
Material Deposition: Equipped with a Platinum (Pt) gas injection cartridge for localized ion-beam deposition to protect sample surfaces during milling.
Lithography Functionality: Frequently paired with third-party extensions like the Nano Pattern Generation System (NPGS) to support precise electron beam lithography.

Removal
Property may be removed between 12:00 and 4:00 Monday through Friday ET (excluding University Staff holidays).
24 hours advanced notice must be provided.
All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate.
The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading, and transportation of the property. Unless otherwise noted, no Assistance will be provided.
A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer’s Certificate.

Upon removal of the property, all sales are final.
Description Warranty: Purdue University (seller) warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for misdescription must be made prior to removal of the property. If Seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid. The liability of the seller shall not exceed the actual purchase price of the property.
