This vehicle was used by the Fire Department as a command vehicle. Transmission issues developed and the decision was made to retire the vehicle.
A/C blows cold and the heater blows hot.
Issues:
-Transmission will not shift into 5th and 6th gear. P0741 comes up on the scanner. The vehicle can be driven, but does not shift into the top 2 gears.
-Engine consumes oil at a high rate. 1 quart every 2-4 weeks
-Third row seats have been removed
-Center console lid missing.
-Tires have less than 50% tread left.
-Some adhesive on the paint. Some paint damage to the passenger rear quarter panel.
No other known issues. Vehicle sold as is.
Q & A
Please explain if the vehicle has 75K miles and is consuming large amounts of oil, is it safe to assume the engine is also bad? Or if the engine is leaking the oil, do you know where it is leaking from? Thank you for the clarification! 04/28/2026 02:13:40 AM
There are no oil leaks that we are aware of. Chevrolet engines are known to have oil‑consumption issues, and this particular vehicle has accumulated high idle hours because it was used as a command center for the Fire Department. High idle time can contribute to increased oil consumption. I made sure to emphasize this issue in the auction listing so that potential buyers could make an informed decision based on the information we have. At this time, I cannot state whether the engine is “bad” without performing further diagnostics or a possible teardown. For that reason, the vehicle is being auctioned as‑is. Please let me know if you have any other questions. 04/28/2026 09:58:28 AM
