Q & A
Thanks Why was the original engine replaced? What exactly was wrong with it? Was the replacement a complete long block? What components were transferred from the old engine? Is there a warranty? Was the engine installed by the government fleet shop or an outside shop? 08/17/2026 11:02:04 AM
The original engine overheated while idling on a crime scene and the overheating caused the cylinder heads to warp. Yes, the replacement engine was a long block. The intake, coil packs, water pump(new), alternator, a/c compressor were transferred. The engine was installed in our government fleet shop. The engine was purchased through Advance Auto Parts (Fraser Engine, part # FE15CDJ47R-HD) and carries a 5-year warranty, unlimited miles from the date the engine was purchased. We are trying to determine if the warranty is transferrable and will update the answer when we find out. 08/17/2026 13:19:22 PM
