The Amnis ImageStreamX is essentially a hybrid between a microscope and a flow cytometer.
It captures high resolution images of thousands of cells per second, letting researchers measure fluorescence while actually seeing each cell.

•Imaging Power:
It takes multiple pictures of every cell—brightfield, side scatter, and up to 10 different fluorescent colors—so you get detailed imagery rather than just intensity signals.

•Magnification Options:
It uses interchangeable objectives (20×, 40×, and 60×), allowing you to choose between broad overviews or very fine visual detail.

•Sensitivity & Resolution:
Pixel sizes get as sharp as 0.1 µm² with the 60× lens. This means it captures tiny structures like nuclear foci, membrane patches, or small organelles clearly.

•Speed & Throughput:
It can analyze thousands of cells per second while still capturing images of each one, which is much faster than conventional microscopy.

•Laser & Color Flexibility:
Standard models include the common 405/488/561/640 nm laser set, so you can use most common fluorochromes. Advanced setups allow additional lasers and channels.

•Sample Handling:
It works with small volumes (around tens to hundreds of microliters) and uses most of the sample efficiently. Optional plate autosamplers support high throughput workflows.

•Software:
Acquisition software (INSPIRE) controls imaging and compensation in real time. The analysis suite (IDEAS) quantifies shape, texture, intensity, colocalization, and hundreds of other measurable features. Optional AI modules support deep learning based classification.

•Upgradable Features:
Add ons like Extended Depth of Field (EDF), MultiMag, and High Gain modes enhance focus, magnification control, and fluorescence sensitivity.
