Condition: Poor
This lot consists of one (1) Craig Systems Inc. helicopter hut, also referred to as a field shelter or utility enclosure. The manufacturer has been identified as Craig Systems Inc.; however, the exact model is unknown.
This unit has been rated as being in poor condition due to evident signs of previous use, exterior and interior damage, and prolonged moisture exposure. Cosmetic wear and deterioration are present throughout the structure.
The exterior exhibits multiple areas of wear and damage, including several holes. One documented hole extends completely through the structure from the exterior to the interior, as shown in the auction photographs. Only the noted observed hole passes all the way through to the interior. Prospective bidders should carefully review the media section to evaluate the extent and location of this damage.
The interior also exhibits significant wear. Elevated moisture levels within the shelter have resulted in mold growth on cardboard boxes that were previously stored inside. Although those boxes have been removed, bidders should be aware that mold spores may still be present within the interior of the unit and should inspect, clean, and remediate the shelter as they deem appropriate prior to use.
Despite its condition, the shelter retains numerous built-in features that may make it suitable for restoration, refurbishment, storage, or other utility applications.
Exterior Features:
One (1) exterior A/C power connection.
One (1) exterior-to-interior pipe penetration, believed to have been intended for a water connection or similar utility (exact purpose unknown).
One (1) front-mounted ventilation opening.
Interior Features:
One (1) full-depth wooden shelving unit mounted along the right interior wall.
Four (4) installed and mounted light fixtures.
Eight (8) standard electrical receptacles.
One (1) roof vent, connected to a chimney roof outlet.
One (1) interior electrical circuit breaker panel.
One (1) rear-mounted ventilation fan exhausting to the exterior. The interior side of the fan is currently covered with insulation that has been painted over.
One (1) rear opening originally intended to function as an open-air window, currently sealed shut by paint.
Construction:
While no exact composition is known. It is believed that the exterior paneling is aluminum with insolation between exterior and interior paneling.
Interior Dimensions (Approximate):
Height: 76 inches
Width: 77.5 inches
Depth: 135 inches
Overall Exterior Dimensions (Approximate):
Height: 80.75 inches (chimney height not included in measurement)
Width: 80.5 inches
Depth: 138.5 inches
This shelter is being offered in its current condition. Prospective bidders are encouraged to carefully review all photographs to evaluate the overall cosmetic condition, structural damage, moisture exposure, and included features prior to placing a bid. Due to the documented through-hole, interior deterioration, and prolonged moisture exposure, bidders should anticipate cleaning, repairs, and refurbishment before returning the unit to service.
