The City of Vinton, Iowa is selling the home located at 801 Park Drive which is located inside Vinton’s Riverside Park. The home was built in 1960 and served as a private residence for park staff through the years. The home has been vacant since spring 2025 and is being sold as is.

***Home MUST be moved. Land is not included with this sale***

The 1 ½ story home is 1,924 square feet with 3 bedrooms (2 upstairs, 1 main level) and 2 bathrooms (1 upstairs, 1 main level).

The single stall detached garage and small brown shed are included with sale and must be removed from the property by the successful bidder.

Appliances included with sale are water heater, furnace, dishwasher, washer & dryer, water softener, central air unit. All of the appliances must be removed with the home.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The successful Bidder, at their expense, shall remove the house, garage and small shed from its location at 801 Park Drive within 120 days of acceptance of the bid and approval of the sale by the City. The conveyance shall be by Bill of Sale.

City water has already been disconnected and capped off. Buyer is responsible for contacting Vinton Municipal Electric Utility and Alliant Energy for disconnection of electric and gas service. The City Sewer Department will assist with sewer disconnection.

The City will be responsible for restoring and backfilling the foundation area once the structure has been relocated.

Removal

The buyer is responsible for all aspects of pick-up / removal, including but not limited to packing, loading, transportation and exporting. Note: Shipping is NOT available.

Removal is by appointment only. All items must be picked-up / removed within 10 (ten) business days from auction closure, unless otherwise stated in the asset description. If any item(s) is not removed within the allotted timeframe, the item(s) may be declared abandoned.

At the time of pick-up / removal, you will be required to present the seller with a copy of your Buyer’s Certificate and/or bill of sale, and potentially other documentation (e.g., copy of driver's license, Authorization of Release, etc). When making a removal appointment, please confirm with the seller what is needed to release the item(s).
